Description:
Committee Members will work with a designated Committee Chair that is a member of the Board of Directors. Committees will develop a short term (6 month) and long term (18 month) plan. Members will execute plan through active participation and recruitment of additional volunteers. Areas include: Personnel, Special Events, PR/Communications, and Finance.

All Board meetings are quarterly. Board members are invited to attend all executive board meetings.

Skills:
Preference for one of the following: event planning, financial planning, accounting, marketing, or fundraising.

    • Sew blankets and bears for the Blankets & Bears Program
    • Deliver created blankets/bears to HTC if made off site
    • Inventory & purchase needed supplies

 

Description:

  • Assist in every day warehouse cleaning, organizing, and upkeep
  • Pick up donations at various partnering locations
  • Assist with end of year inventory
  • Fill in as needed at various positions throughout the warehouse
  • Assist with special projects such as the Brighter Smiles Dental Program, Warehouse Sale, Diva’s Day Out, and other programs
  • Complete other tasks assigned by HTC staff

Description:

  • Welcome donors at the door and collect incoming donations
  • Provide donors with receipt
  • Give donations to in-take room volunteers
  • Ensure client’s request bag is properly labeled with agency information
  • Select clothes appropriate to requests
  • Select baby/toddler equipment if requested
  • Select toys and books based upon requests
  • Select a dental kit based upon child’s age
  • Properly fill out distribution sheet
  • Pack client’s request bag and double check items against distribution sheet
  • Place packed request bag on correct agency shelf
  • Staple distribution sheet (TLC) & agency information together & place in completed order shelf
  • Help with order pick ups

Description:

  • Welcome donors at the door and collect incoming donations
  • Provide donors with receipts and sign
  • Sort clothes by size, season, and gender
  • Check cleanliness of clothes
  • Sort shoes, socks, underwear, and maternity clothes
  • Sort “Play-It-Again” sports items
  • Direct non clothing items to proper area of the warehouse
  • Fold clothes
  • Clean and organize in-take room
  • Dispose of clothes in poor condition to St. Francis area, Epiphany basket, and trash
  • Dispose of plastic bags
  • Ensure clothes that need laundered are given to the proper person
  • Sort coats and place on coat rack
  • Sort hats, gloves, and scarves

Description:

  • Assist Executive Director with “Special Projects”
  • Inventory paperwork and other important documentation
  • Helps with major mailings
  • Addresses envelopes
  • Aid staff with data entry
  • Create labels
  • Logs volunteer hours monthly in database

Description:

  • Welcome donors at the door and collect incoming donations
  • Provide donors with receipts
  • Shelve clothes on racks in the In-Take Room by gender, size, and type of clothing item on the correct side of the warehouse
  • Shelve shoes by gender and size on the ends of rows in warehouse
  • Place size labels on winter coats and hang by gender in the warehouse
  • Shelve socks & shoes by gender and size
  • Shelve hats, gloves, and scarves by gender and size
  • Shelve diapers after placing a rubber band around them and labeling the size
  • Straighten up shelves and spot check to ensure sizes are correct
  • Shelve blankets, sheets, bedding sets, & bibs in proper location
  • Assist with order pick ups

Description:

  • Move new toy donations from in-take room to toy room
  • Sort new toy donations
  • Discard toys with missing pieces to Salvation Army area
  • Discard toys in poor condition to trash
  • Place toys on correctly labeled shelves
  • Test toys to see if working properly
  • Replace batteries if necessary
  • Ensure toy has all pieces and place in bag
  • Locate missing pieces (if possible) and place in bag
  • Offer toy suggestions when a warehouse volunteer has a toy order to fill
  • Clean dirty toys thoroughly with cleaning supplies
  • Organize and maintain toy room
  • Make certain appropriate seasonal toys are displayed
