Our Blankets & Bears program provides handmade bears and soft, new crib quilts for the babies we serve. Area sewing groups and other community groups collaborate to cut out, sew, stuff and finish the bears. Others cut out and finish summer-weight and winter-weight quilts and receiving blankets. Too often, low-income families cannot provide safe sleeping places for their children. Our Beds 4 Babies program provides a crib, mattress, Pack’n’Play, bassinet or toddler bed to a family for a low fee. Due to recent legislation, drop-side cribs have been outlawed. To fill our clients’ requests, Hannah’s Treasure Chest purchases IKEA cribs, which are provided to our partner agencies at a discounted price.
Every care package for children 2 years of age and older includes a basic dental kit. Kits include an age-appropriate toothbrush, toothpaste and floss or floss pick.
During November and December, Hannah’s Treasure Chest is proud to host our annual Giving Angels program which helps local families at or below the poverty level. We provide gifts for their children, age newborn to 12 years.
