Gap Fund

This fund consists of financial gifts provided by individuals, charities and organizations to purchase items that have not been donated, but are needed by a child. A portion of the funds raised through our annual warehouse sales go into this fund as well.

Giving Angels

During November and December, Hannah’s Treasure Chest is proud to host our annual Giving Angels program which helps local families at or below the poverty level.  With the help of local organizations, area donors provide holiday gifts for the children, age newborn through 12 years.

Families must be clients of our selected partners to be eligible for our Giving Angels program. Hannah’s Treasure Chest does not assist families directly through our programs, and cannot accept requests directly from families or non-partner agencies.

Brighter Smiles Dental Kits

Our Brighter Smiles program provides age appropriate dental hygiene kits to all children receiving care packages. Proper oral hygiene is promoted through educational literature provided in each kit, when available.

Dental health has a great effect on the overall health and well-being of children. Poor dental health can even impact the academic performance of children. One of our goals is to provide an age-appropriate dental kit in our care packages for every child we serve.

A dental kit consists of:

  • Age-appropriate toothpaste
  • Age-appropriate toothbrush
  • Floss or floss picks as appropriate
  • Educational materials (if available)
With the generous support of area dentists, the Dayton Mercy Society, and donation drives coordinated by Scout and church groups, we have provided nearly 400 dental kits per month to support the dental health of area children.

Blankets & Bears

Volunteers at Hannah’s Treasure Chest lovingly hand-sew much-needed blankets and stuffed toys for babies. This project grew out of a continual need for such items, identified by volunteers who assemble our care packages. This program continues to grow as additional needs are recognized. Volunteers to cut out, sew, stuff and finish the bears are needed – please contact us if you’d like to participate!

Babies 6 months and younger receive a hand-made blanket, a bear, and a Cuddle Bear book provided by Usborne Books representative, Sharon OldhamContact us to sponsor a Blankets & Bears package!
