Enriching the lives of children in need.
What We Do
While many families are fortunate enough to provide for their babies, toddlers and children, many parents struggle in raising their children with sufficient resources. Hannah’s Treasure Chest responds to these needs by providing nonprofit and social service agencies in Butler, Greene, Montgomery, and Warren Counties with clothing, baby equipment, diapers, hygiene items, toys, books, and other essential items for their clients. The assistance from Hannah’s Treasure Chest greatly enhances programs already provided to children in the Miami Valley.
Social service workers, family advocates, school counselors, and church pastors first determine the needs of the family, then request items from Hannah’s Treasure Chest by submitting a family profile with a checklist of needs.
The completed request is picked up by the social worker, family advocate, etc. and is delivered directly to the child in need. In addition to daily request fulfillment, Hannah’s Treasure Chest also administers Beds for Babies and Blankets & Bears programs benefiting infants 18 months and younger. The Brighter Smiles Dental Kit program provides age-appropriate toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss or floss picks to children 2 years and older. The Giving Angels program provides 4 holiday gifts per child to children up to 12 years of age.
Who We Serve
Care packages are provided to the clients of our partner agencies, who are typically families in our local area living at or below the poverty level. Receiving these items allows families in need to redirect their limited resources for other essential items such as food, housing, transportation, and education for themselves and their children.
Our programs benefit and complement the services provided by our partner agencies, freeing their staff members to focus on providing guidance and other needed care to the families.
How We Thrive
Hannah’s Treasure Chest is supported by in-kind donations from the community and financial donations from a variety of generous donors. Additional funding comes from fundraising events during the year along with monetary and in-kind donations, and excess inventory sales. Grants and funding from foundations are a growing portion of our funding as well.
Hannah’s Treasure Chest depends on in-kind and financial donations from individuals, organizations, local businesses and corporations. We gladly accept and appreciate donations of baby, toddler, and children’s items from parents whose own children have grown out of them, provided they are in excellent condition.
