Too often, low-income families cannot provide safe sleeping places for their children. Our Beds 4 Babies program provides a crib, toddler bed, and/or mattress at no charge to families.
Since 2011, the Beds for Babies program at Hannah’s Treasure Chest has distributed over 200 cribs and in the last year alone provided over 100 individuals with safe sleep equipment for their babies and toddlers. Despite this success, we have only been able to serve a small portion of the local families who are in need of safe sleep education and a crib.
Recent legislation outlawing drop-side cribs has complicated our efforts, and we are only now seeing donations of used cribs. To fill our clients’ requests, Hannah’s Treasure Chest frequently has to purchase cribs, which are provided to our partner agencies at no charge. In 2013, Hannah’s Treasure Chest took part in IKEA’s Life Improvement Project, and was awarded $10,000 which was used to purchase new cribs, mattresses and bedding, among other needed items.
Give a Crib
The Beds for Babies program is funded by grants and donations from individuals and businesses. Please consider making a donation to purchase a crib or toddler bed for a family in need. $150 will provide a crib, mattress, and bedding for one child.
