I wanted to tell you about how that weighted blanket has changed a family’s life.

Kim and Gracie, recipients

Gracie and her grandma Kim. Gracie can now sleep through the night thanks to a weighted blanket donated by donor Elizabeth Brill and her family!

The little girl that received the blanket is 8 years old.  Gracie has not slept for more than 2 to 2 ½ hours a night since she was born.

Her grandparents take turns staying up all night with her.  The sleep deprivation really affected Gracie’s life.

Beverly Sizemore, staff member at Beech Acres Parenting Center

Beverly Sizemore is a case worker with Beech Acres Parenting Center. Many of her clients are grandparents raising their grandchildren.

Her grandmother told me that the very first night with the weighted blanket that Gracie slept over 8 hours.  They actually had to wake her up to make sure she was all right.

Elizabeth Brill kindly donated the blanket to Gracie’s family.

Elizabeth Brill and her family kindly donated the blanket to Gracie’s family.

Gracie has been sleeping all night, every night, since she received this blanket.  Her grandmother is so grateful! She told me that Gracie is actually smiling again! I did not know the lack of sleep was affecting this family so much. She said Gracie is happy and smiling all the time just like she should be for her age.

This has been a miracle for this family.

Thank so much!  Please let everyone know about this!

You can print this picture and post it if you want to. The family also receives clothes from Hannah’s Treasure Chest. This will make your volunteers very happy!

To whom it may concern:

It is a pleasure to write this letter of support for Hannah’s Treasure Chest (HTC).  HTC has been a partner and friend for over 5 years helping us assist parents who are in poverty and under-resourced.  With their help we are able to meet the basic needs of our parents, ensuring children have adequate clothing, a warm coat, or a safe car seat.  When we remove the immediate need of a mom or dad they can better focus on the work that needs to be done, and we can meet our goal of helping them achieve self-sufficiency.  HTC partners with us to make sure that’s being done.

Hannah’s Treasure Chest’s services are exemplary and what really adds value to their work is their quality customer service.  Their staff and volunteers are very professional and courteous.  They understand our work and demonstrate compassion in all they do.

They are a tremendous asset to the area and they are second to none in the service and resources they provide.

Hannah’s Treasure Chest has been a valuable resource to our Early Childhood Programs at the Butler County Educational Service Center. Since the majority of our families are living off of a limited income, Hannah’s Treasure Chest has been able to provide items such as; clothing, strollers, high chairs, toys, books, etc. These are items that our families can’t normally afford on their own. In some situations, Hannah’s Treasure Chest has been able to provide items for birthday gifts and Christmas presents.  Their generosity gives these families a great support system that they can rely on.

We appreciate all the help and support that Hannah’s Treasure Chest has provided for families in Butler County.

I can’t thank you enough for the incredible care package I received for my daughter. Like every parent, I want more than anything to give my child a life that is filled with both comfort and happiness, and because of Hannah’s Treasure Chest, doing that is just a little bit easier. I was shocked by the number of adorable clothes we received to guarantee she stays warm throughout the rest of the winter and by the number of dog-themed toys and books that had been picked out for her. Thank you again for helping me to bring a little more comfort and happiness into my little girl’s face.

Good Morning–Just a note to thank you so very much for helping a displaced family that attends the Miami Valley Child Development Centers’ MET center. I placed a request last week and a co-worker picked it up yesterday. I will deliver the bags today. I know that mom will be very grateful, as I am. I really appreciate all that Hannah’s Treasure Chest does to help the families and I know that you all work very hard. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!!! Cindy Sampson

I heard about HTC long before I ever donated.  One day I made it my mission to find them.  I stopped in and explained that I had heard about them for years but never knew where they were located.  I was graciously given the grand tour and have been donating ever since.  I even shop the sales racks for items that HTC needs!  It is a great organization that impressed me on my impromptu visit! Congratulations to the staff and volunteers for all the work they do for the greater Dayton community.

I just wanted to thank you and Sue for partnering with us for Global Youth Service Day on Saturday.  The youth had a wonderful time.  They were able to catch the vision of your facility and came away feeling the beauty of what you do to help others.  They could see the way you enrich the lives of the children in our community.  They were so touched by the miracles that Sue shared.  All four of my daughters were there and they loved being able to serve and can’t wait to return.  Thank you for making this wonderful experience possible for them and the other youth that attended.

Thank you note from a clientDear Hannah’s Treasure Chest,

Thank you so much for the cute baby clothes, blankets and bear/book that were ordered through Incarnation Church. I greatly appreciate it, and will put the items to good use!

Hello Hannah’s Volunteers!

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for all the work you do! 🙂

This morning I delivered a bed and two bags of clothes, books and toys to a single mother who just adopted a son who was born with drugs in his system. She is very brave taking on his special needs, and she was in tears as I started unloading the bed frame and mattress out of the car. She was so excited to see the clothes and games, and grateful that her new son would finally have socks that fit, pants without holes, and his own bed to sleep in at night.

Words cannot adequately articulate how touched this mother was and how joyful she felt for the first time in months, all thanks to your efforts. She constantly tells me how her new son has given her motivation to reach her goals, follow through with her plans and be the best person she can be so he does not have to grow up in an environment of drugs and alcohol. She is doing a wonderful job with him as we work on parenting, and I can see a bright future for both of them.

Thank you for giving them the resources necessary for a happy start together. You consistently do a great job with my families, and I hope you each take some time to be proud of the good work you do. It takes a very giving soul to thanklessly volunteer your efforts, and it does not go unappreciated!

Thanks again, and I hope to see you all soon! 🙂

Hannah’s Treasure Chest is an invaluable resource for the clients of Homefull and their families.  Many of Homefull’s clients are living with limited or no income, and providing for basic needs can often be difficult.  This situation is especially true when a family experiences an unstable housing situation; as all resources must be used to focus on stable housing.  As a result, the individual needs of family members are set aside to use all financial resources for housing stabilization.  Homefull serves many children who are often without age appropriate books or toys because parents simply do not have the resources to provide them.

Hannah’s Treasure Chest provides the resources for parents to access necessary, and often expensive, items- such as clothing, toys, books and safe children’s furniture.  Hannah’s Treasure Chest allows parents to meet the needs of each child while continuing to work toward stable housing for the family.  This opportunity significantly impacts the growth and development of the child. They gain safety and security from stable housing, as well as a individuality and importance for having their own needs met.

Hannah’s Treasure Chest is a fantastic organization that provides quality, reliable services to the families and children of Montgomery County, Ohio. Thank you for all you do!

I wanted to personally say thank you for the items you gave my 2 yr old daughter. We had lost everything when we moved into a bed bug infested house. My daughter didn’t have any clothes or a bed. The items you gave us we are so grateful for and I wanted to say thank you myself! God Bless Your Organization. ~ D.T.

Thank you so much for the Cub Foods and Kroger gift cards. I can’t express how wonderful this is – thank you for providing our Christmas meal. I am so excited and thankful for your thoughtfulness. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

Dear all at Hannah’s Treasure Chest

Thank you SO much for setting up the Christmas gifts for the needy family. They truly needed the help and were so excited about it. Her job situation isn’t very secure and she lost a lot of child support from her ex-husband being laid off. Without Hannah’s Treasure Chest they would not have had a Christmas at all.

A month later the kids are still talking about how great Christmas was! She called me on Christmas Day to thank me and have me pass along the message to you all.

I know things aren’t great for them – I hope they’ll be able to use Hannah’s as a resource in the future. Our school community helps them a lot, but there is only so much that we, as individuals, can do for them.

Again – thank you so much – you guys are AWESOME!

Dear Hannah’s Treasure Chest:
Thank you so much for the donation of the beautiful changing table, mattress with sheets, clothing, sipee cups, and diapers to our Emergency Baby Pantry! We needed these items so much & they have helped a number of families! We want you to know how much of a help these donations are here.

The need for help is so great and sometimes our resources don’t meet the demand. That’s why we are so grateful for the generosity of people like you who help make it possible for us to assist God’s precious little ones.

Our baby pantry provides us with the opportunity to show that we care for the life of babies after they are born, as well as before birth. We feel that families in a crisis pregnancy should know there is help for their babies and support for them in this difficult period of their lives. Also, in these uncertain times, some families find themselves temporarily in need and we are there to fill in the gap.

I know you will be blessed for your generosity and we certainly appreciate your donations and giving spirit. Thank you for your commitment to babies and life.

Deb Miller - Office Manager, Life Resource Center

Thanks for all you have done for this agency. We really appreciate your kind gestures during the holiday season. You gave children the chance for a better Christmas and put smiles on many peoples faces. Thanks again for everything!

- Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Dayton, Inc.

Dear Hannah’s Treasure Chest,
Our clothing drive has drawn to a close for another year and once again it was a huge success. We were able to provide for 235 children from 85 families. This blessing has been quite a testimony to our dedicated volunteers.

The most exciting part of this experience is watching the children’s faces when they get a pair of new shoes. In addition to the children, it was wonderful to see the mothers as they were able to pick up a few items for themselves. The day was full of laughter, joy, hugs and thankful hearts.

This year was definitely made possible because of several partners with this project…Hannah’s Treasure Chest provided numerous bags of children’s clothes.

Your loving generosity opened the door for us to share God’s love with so many people. It was a wonderful opportunity to reinforce that “God is good all the time and all the time God is good.”

Blessings to all.

To whom will be helping my family for Christmas,

I want you to know that you will make our family very happy and grateful for all things donated to us. I’ve never had to ask for help before for Christmas, we’ve always managed, but this year my children’s father was laid off from work and we just moved so we were kind of behind on things and won’t be able to afford Christmas for our children. Usually my family could help but my father has a lot of debt from my mother’s death so now I have nowhere else to turn. So again we will greatly appreciate any help given to us. Hopefully next year we will be back on our feet. Thank you.

It is with great pleasure that I am writing this letter of support for Hannah’s Treasure Chest. There are many times throughout each year that families in Greene County are unable to buy clothing, infant & toddler car seats, highchairs, and other items of necessity for their children. If it were not for Hannah’s Treasure Chest serving our area, many infants would be riding in cars without proper restraint, many youth would be attending classes without proper fitting clothing, and families’ anguish would be higher at not being able to provide needed items for their children.

It is a tremendous help to have this service available in our community. There is no other organization, church or business that provides this extensive service in this county. They do it without prejudice for low income qualifying families, and with the assurance that all items given are clean and in good condition. If it were not for their dedication we would find it difficult, if not impossible, to obtain the necessary items for area children.

This group has never wavered in their dedication to this project, which has seen remarkable growth. They are responsive to partner organizations and the clients they serve. I would highly recommend them for any award or grant which could be bestowed.

I’ve been a struggling mother of seven, been raising my kids on my own seems like since day one. There’s not a month that goes by without shut-off notices or eviction notices. My child support is never on time which always throws me off on bills. I do the best I can to keep my family together but something always goes wrong. The help I have received from your agency has always been a blessing and I thank you for everything.
